Club Inclusion Policy
Statement of Commitment
Myths and Legends Masters Basketball Club is committed to fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, and vilification.
As a Masters club, we prioritise participation, respect, and enjoyment of the game. We welcome all eligible players aged 35 and over, regardless of ability, background, or identity, and support every member’s opportunity to develop their skills and maintain a lifelong love of basketball.
Affiliation and Governance
Myths and Legends Masters Basketball Club is an affiliated club of Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia.
Accordingly, the Club:
- Adopts and supports all relevant inclusion policies, frameworks, and governing documents issued by Basketball Australia, including the Diversity and Inclusion Framework 2021–2025.
- Complies with the Basketball Victoria Member Protection By-Laws, which prohibit discrimination, harassment, and vilification on the basis of age, disability, race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Supports the Basketball Australia National Integrity Framework and associated complaint processes.

Participation for All
We support members at all levels of playing ability and promote inclusive formats of the game, including walking basketball and graded competition where available.
Gender Diversity
In line with Basketball Australia’s Transgender and Gender Diverse Inclusion Policy, participants may compete in the competition category that best reflects their gender identity.
Cultural Safety
We strive to provide a culturally safe and respectful environment that values and celebrates the diverse backgrounds of our members.
Accessibility
We are committed to making reasonable adjustments, where possible, to support participation by members with disability and to ensure our training and competition environments are welcoming and accessible.
Code of Conduct
All members, coaches, team managers, and committee members are expected to uphold the Myths and Legends Member Code of Conduct.
We promote enjoyment, health, and respectful competition, and expect all participants to model inclusive and respectful behaviour both on and off the court.
Complaints and Integrity
Any concerns relating to discrimination, harassment, or breaches of this policy may be raised through the appropriate pathway below:
- Club-related matters: Concerns arising from internal club activities should be directed to the Club President at

- Governing body matters: Complaints may also be lodged through the Basketball Australia National Integrity Framework complaint process or through the reporting processes of Basketball Victoria.
All complaints will be treated seriously, handled respectfully, and managed in accordance with the applicable governing body procedures.
