A skilled playmaker and hard enforcer, he showed no distinction between teammate and opponent. A talented Australian rules footballer, he was selected in an Australian Olympic squad and was an outstanding sportsman in his youth.

A committed committee member and respected clubman, his contribution on and off the field is remembered alongside legendary club stories — including the night Ron and Dave Harris drank the Outback Nightclub in Portland, USA, out of Heineken beer.

A deserved Life Member of the Club.
