My involvement with the Myths and Legends started in the original women’s team at the 2002 Melbourne World Masters Games. I played in the O35s team that won a silver medal. I became involved then as my father Des de Kretser wanted to coach a women’s team and so encouraged me to get some of my friends together so we could all play.

After that we didn’t play again until the 2009 World Masters in Sydney which then rolled on into playing regularly every 2 yrs at the Pan Pacs on the Gold Coast and various Australian Masters as well. In 2013 I played in the World Masters in Torino, Italy which was certainly a highlight especially as my dad and brother were both there playing too.

I have played Basketball since I was 8yrs old and in those days the youngest age group for girls was U14. So, I began playing with girls who were 5 years older than I was. I began playing at Nunawading stadium and now still play there twice a week as well as once a week at Mc Kinnon association. After a few years I began playing rep ball for Nunawading Spectres where I played nearly all my junior rep basketball. After leaving Spectres I went on to play at St Kilda and then Bayside Blues/Frankston where I finished my senior comp days. I now play 3 times a week and have kept up my refereeing twice a week doing VJBL on a Fri night and junior domestic games of Sat afternoons. I have done a lot of coaching over the years as well both at Club level and with junior rep teams too.
