Members Code of Conduct

Basketball is intended to be a recreational activity for enjoyment and health. This Myths and Legends member’s code of conduct outlines the Basketball Club’s expectations in relation to a member’s approach to playing, coaching and/or supporting the game.
It is intended to assist everyone to obtain the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their involvement in basketball. The aim of this code is to improve the quality of participation so people are more likely to start and continue their involvement with master’s basketball.

Member’s Code of Conduct

When member’s annually register to join Myths and Legends Basketball Club, they agree to abide by the following member’s code of conduct. If a member violates this code of conduct, they are at risk of being suspended or ejected from the club and their membership terminated, depending on the severity of the act and outcome of review committee.

  1. Understand and play by the rules, as well in the good spirit of the game.
  2. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person. This includes players, spectators and officials (including your coach). Never argue with an official, including umpires.
  3. Control your temper, never ridicule or yell at a player, spectator or official. Verbal and physical abuse of any form will not be tolerated.
  4. Work equally hard for yourself and your team. The harder you work the more you’ll enjoy the game.
  5. Be a good sport. Applaud and encourage all forms of good play, from teammates and opponents. Set the appropriate example to all participants in the sport.
  6. Treat all participants in your sport as you would like to be treated.
  7. Be prepared to lose sometimes, it is all part of the sport. Keep winning in perspective. Maximise participation and focus on participation for fun and enjoyment.
  8. Listen to the advice of your coach and try to apply it during practice and in games.
  9. Always respect the use of facilities and equipment provided.
  10. Wear your Myths and Legends clothing with pride. When you have it on you are representing the club.
  11. Train hard, play hard and most of all, have fun!
