Major Tournament Selection Policy

Myths & Legends is a Masters Basketball club that offers the opportunity to all men and women basketball players over the age of 35 to participate in organised Masters basketball tournaments. The basic principle of the club is supporting participation by members at all levels of playing ability.

Team Selection Principles

• All players wanting to play in any tournament must contact the clubs contact or Age group coordinators prior to being put in a team. The club will advertise via its website dates for each tournament.
• Depending on the number of players interested in playing in each age group and the standard of players, the club will endeavour to enter an A Grade teams when possible.
• Selection for A Grade teams will be premised on picking suitable skilled players for A grade from the registered players and selecting the most balanced team available.
• The club welcomes groups of players wanting to put their own team in a tournament under the M&L banner. The team must have a minimum of 7 players.
• Age group managers or team contacts will enter teams into the tournaments depending on interest levels and with the help of other committee members select team on friendship groups and ability levels. If multiple teams are entered into the same grade, teams be selected in a manner that makes them equally competitive.
• Players wanting to play in multiple age groups must give priority to those players playing in their actual age group.
• Age group Coordinator’s with multiple teams in an age group will provide a draft of possible team selection to the Selection Chairman. Publishing of selection of teams can occur once approved by the Selection Chairman.
• Any Grievances needs to be lodged with Selection Chairman and will be managed by the M&L Executive.
